BMI Farmers’ Market (temporarily located at 1321 Key Highway, next to Little Havana)
Saturdays, May 16 – November 28, 2020
9:00am to 1:00pm
The BMI Farmers’ Market is a great way to spend your Saturday morning. Purchase fresh produce, oven-fresh bread and sweets, bright flowers, tasty ready-to-eat treats, artisan items, and more.
While the museum remains closed temporarily in compliance with state efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, a MedStar Health COVID-19 testing center has been set up in the museum’s pavilion. During this time, the farmers market will be located a block away, at 1321 Key Highway, in the parking lot at Little Havana restaurant. The market will return to the BMI parking lot once the museum is able to reopen, and the testing site is closed.
Farmers markets are deemed essential businesses, providing the community with fresh produce and goods. The BMI market will initially have fewer vendors than in past years, as farmers and small businesses adapt their business models. Health guidelines including social distancing and use of face coverings will be in effect. See FAQs below for more information on market safety. We believe that farmers’ markets provide vital food access services to our community, and we will continue to do so as safely as possible. While being outside is generally considered to hold lower public health risk during this COVID-19 pandemic, attending a farmers’ market and buying goods from local proprietors is not entirely without risk and we urge consideration of this before you visit.
Interested in becoming a vendor? Check our flowchart to determine your eligibility, then submit an application online. Contact Market Manager Ann Fiocco at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Community Interest Vendors attend the market to share information about local nonprofit organizations. We are currently accepting applications for the 2020 market season.
See you at the Market!
