Whether you call them Pop-Pop or Granddad, Grandma or Mom-Mom, bring your grandparent to the BMI for Grandparents Day! Grandparents receive free admission to enjoy their trip down memory lane and grandkids can make a special craft to remember this day.

BMI is proud to partner with Anne Arundel County Public Library for this special day. Show your AACPL library card to receive 50% off regular admission prices. Between 1-3 pm library staff will add to the fun by reading stories in many of the galleries.
Neighborhood Night – Thursday, September 25 – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Our neighbors are invited for an evening of free fun and games. Enjoy old-fashioned games and freshly-popped popcorn in our waterfront pavilion, as well as Miss Twist ice cream available for purchase. Select museum galleries will be open for the evening. There’s more fun planned, so be sure to come by!
Free Fall Baltimore – Sunday, October 5 – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Enjoy free admission to BMI today! And—today only—kids can enjoy a drop-in version of our popular Design It! Balls & Tracks program, offered between 10 a.m. and 12 noon or between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Kids will love creating a roller coaster ride that travels all over our activity room then sending balls racing down it.

6th Annual Golf Outing – Monday, October 20, 2014
Held at the scenic Woodlands golf course in Baltimore County, all proceeds from the Outing will go to support the BMI’s signature educational programs and award-winning exhibits, which each year teach more than 160,000 visitors about Baltimore’s industrial and technological heritage. The day’s events begin with a Pitch & Putt contest at 10:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. In addition to receiving boxed lunches, beverages, and snacks, all golfers will have the chance to compete for prizes at several holes across the course, including an exciting golf getaway package to Pebble Beach. The Outing will conclude with a catered dinner and the presentation of contest prizes at the clubhouse. RSVP here!
Video Game Wizards Exhibit Opening – Tuesday, October 23
Video Game Wizards: Transforming Science and Art into Games. A revolutionary new interactive exhibit, where visitors can immerse themselves in the exciting process of creating their very own video game! Stations provide an opportunity to learn about the industry and customize their own game, which they are able to play and share with others through the exhibit’s website.
Wine Festival – Sunday, October 26 – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
BMI invites wine connoisseurs, enthusiasts, and amateur sommeliers to an afternoon of tasting and swirling. Wines ranging from sparkling to port will be available for tasting and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase bottles of their favorites at discounted prices.

Baltimore Shops exhibit opens – Friday, November 7
Our new exhibit, Baltimore Shops, examines the imprint left by bustling 19th century markets, once-mighty downtown department stores, and today’s independent merchants. More than just a place to shop, they became integral to

1877 Strike Lecture – Sunday, November 23, 1:00pm
When a group of B&O railroad workers refused to work on July 16, 1877 they started the first national strike, an epic moment in U.S. history that spread across the country and involved more than 100,000 men. William Barry uses his book,
The 1877 Railroad Strike in Baltimore, as a basis for this lecture. Included with regular museum admission.

Led by Hugh Sisson of Heavy Seas Brewery, this evening is perfect for the beer and local food-lover. Enjoy local beer and learn about the brewing process and the history of Baltimore beer.
