High School Challenges
The Maryland Engineering Challenges welcomes all students in grades 9 to 12 to participate in our High School Challenges.

Students who are interested in joining the 2012 Challenges should review the High School Information Sheet as well as the Guide for the individual challenge they are interested in.
Teams that will participate in the 2012 Challenges should have their adult Coach register the team at our online registration site: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012MECRegistration After registering teams, Coaches are asked to mail their $5 Coaches fee to BMI prior to the registration deadline.
Wood Bridge
- Grades 9 to 12
- Design a structurally efficient bridge to hold the maximum load before breaking.

Cargo Airplane
- Grades 9 to 12
- Construct an electric airplane to fly tethered flights with and without cargo.

Robot
- Grades 9 to 12
- Construct a two- or four-leg robot to walk under direction over uneven terrain.

- Design and demonstrate a ship to carry cargo over a water course.
